Two years ago I ordered some spars from Aircraft Spruce for my Wag 2+2 project. I built one wing a year ago, and then did some final work on the fuselage.
Finally I got set up to do the other wing. I finished making ribs and then pulled the spars from the rafters. I started to lay things out.
Pleasant, working with wood. I like it. Until I looked harder at what I was working with.
This is 7 feet from the end of a 16 foot 3/4 by 6 1/4 spar. The line is a 1:10 slope extending almost to the top edge.
I went back and read AC 43.13-1B from 1998 several times. I don't see this as being usable.
I can't believe I missed this when I accepted the shipment 2 years ago. The other spars are beautiful. Last I heard, new spars are subject to a 9 week wait at best....
