While checking out some pictures the other day, I noticed the Hummel Ultra Cruiser doesn't seem to have any stringers at all, making it about as true a metal monocoque as you could get. The thing is, I don't think I've ever seen this before, there's usually at least a few stringers in any metal plane I've looked at.
I'm guessing the minimum aluminum thickness (for handling, availability, or whatever) was thick enough to not need any help but I'm just wondering how common this is.
Or am I way off on this?
