All the scarf joint pictures I have seen have the joint going straight across the plywood.
Why can't it be angled, which would give more surface area to the joint?
For example, if it were angled 30 degrees the area would be about 15% larger. And 45 degrees about 41% larger.
I think this would be of benefit when the pieces being scarfed are relatively narrow.
