From a Facebook group post, photos and text/ reposted for those who don't do FB.

"Steffen Hegele is with Engels Achim.

Today I would like to present our project of the Engels E.7 (replica of the Fokker V.40). This is an airplane designed by Anthony Fokker in 1919 for the civilian market. It is considered as the forefather of the ultralight airplane. We started the certification process for one of our two replicas already. Fuselage, undercarriage and tail units have passed the first official inspection. The initiator of the project is Achim Engels, who is well known for his Fokker replicas.

The original aircraft from 1919 had an Anzani 3-cylinder engine with 30 hp. We will opt for the Verner Scarlett VL 5-cylinder. The installation is scheduled for next year.In general, we try to be as historically accurate as possible. Due to the modern engine and the restrictions for the registration, we will make some compromises for one plane here. The second E.7 is built true to the original.

During the reconstruction, a complete set of drawings was created by hand. This set will be completed according to the next construction phases. We are also working on a photo documentation of the construction process called "In Detail". You can follow the construction on Youtube as well."
