plywood rib Vs. stick built

[Hawkeye]

is a 1/4" plywood rib stronger than a 1/4sq. stick rib?
I have looked at both, the ply rib can be made very quickly and easily on a cnc, where built up rib is going to be time consuming.
Question 2, what kind of ply is acceptable for this application?
