Gentlemen ( & Ladies )
I need to remove old paint from some aluminum components ( ailerons, rudder etc ).
The paint is in god condition but I have no idea what type of paint it is. Also, there is some 'foam' nearby so chemical removal, at least the chemicals that I a have used would have to be done VERY carefully as those chemicals tend to dissolve foam(s) !!!!
My question is, am I going to have to do this chemically and very slowly and carefully
or
could media blasting ( crushed walnut shells or ?? ) be used without adversely affecting the aluminum ??
Am open to and appreciate any suggestions, thoughts, or warnings !!
Thanks in Advance.
