Been thinking about using a flywheel drive 18xx cc VW on the RANS S-12XL in place of the 503DCDI I have for it. While it would be heavier than the 503, it would likely be quite a bit lighter than the 912 the plane routinely flies with?
Other than designing the engine mounting adapter and working out the installation, what other reasons are there to avoid this configuration? Has anyone actually done it?
