Hi everyone,
I am a very tall guy 6"6', 200 cm. I want to scratch build all metal airplane by plans. There are designs out there that I like. The problem is, I don't seem to have enough legroom. Canopy thing can be addressed by ordering or making a custom canopy. My question is goofy probably. Is it possible to modify the fuselage, so It would be longer, say 4 inches or less? Probably have to move the wing also close to half the distance of that. Cockpit would be longer and seat back would be farther from rudder pedals. The aircraft I have ordered plans for is Midget Mustang-1. I talked to Vans guys about RV-4 and RV-3. They said that RV-4 you could move your seat back but It is easier said than done, however It can be done. They didn't even consider my crazy idea about making It longer. I know everyting can be done, you can even design your own aircraft. My question is, what is involved besides making some parts longer and moving the wing a little. Is It practical at all. I've looked at many designs and reply "get a design where you fit" doesn't do It. :ermm: There are other criteria besides my size.
Thanks,
Kristjan
