Okay so I'm beginning to get materials etc. to start my Viking Cygnet. The fuselage is steel but the wings are wood, as some of you know. The wing ribs are plywood with lightening holes. Since I build custom acoustic guitars for people I have a fairly well equipped shop and use a table router pretty much on every guitar in one way or another. I'm wondering if anyone has any jig ideas for this or have done something similar. I figured I'd make a rib template then use a trim bit for rough cut ribs (cut on my band saw) and follow the template. Is there a better way?? I would use my drill press for getting the lightening holes close then finish those up on the router too. Oh and I should point out that these are three piece ribs. All the same except for the roots. Any thoughts?? Thanks!!!!
