Hi,
I purchased a Jodel D-11 that had the lower front longerons and the wing pickup bulkhead damaged with dry rot. The rest of the plane is in very good condition.
In order to properly repair these items, I had to take a part much of the forward fuselage and found out that I don't enjoy working with wood.
I enjoy working with fiberglass and was thinking could a replacement fuselage be built out of composites without a big weight penalty?
Could calculating the loads the current fuselage carries be used in sizing the new fuselage?
Thanks
Larry
