It was announced on the Tailwind forum that prolific Tailwind builder Jim Clement died from a stroke. My recollection is that he built around 11 Tailwinds. I'm not sure if that included his version of the Buttercup and a larger version of the Tailwind. He came up with some changes to the design that many recent builders have incorporated, and was probably the most knowledgeable person on the Tailwind design since Steve Wittman died years ago. One of his earlier Tailwinds was used for the CAFE APR flight test in the mid 90s.
