I put together my second main spar for my Fisher Horizon 2. When I pulled it out of the jig somehow the plywood webbing offset at a butt joint and created a step in the webbing. Everything else is good, but the middle 3/4s of the butt joint has that raised step. This is the same area where the blocking will go in to mount the strut attachment bracket. Can I sand down the step (thinning the plywood), glue on the thick wood blocks for the struts and overlay another piece of plywood on any remaining thinner areas and therefore retain the original strength? Or am I S.O.L? I've attached photos of the step, after its sanded, and the area on the plans.
