I have a torque tube I want to add some stiffness to. I also have a spool of 12k carbon fiber and some 30 minute epoxy. Can I just smear a thin layer of the epoxy on the spiral path, and then try to widen the fiber bundle a bit and wrap it onto the path? And maybe add another layer after that? What percentage of the fibers would likely become impregnated? Is there a more sure way of impregnating them, without a ton of special equipment?
