Are there gust alleviation devices that can be applied to light planes? Low wing loading light planes can suffer from abrupt vertical forces in summery conditions with thermals. In my experience even Piper Cherokees or Beech Muskateers having flaps are uncomfortable in summer. I'm not so much interested in reducing wing bending, just improved ride comfort. Are there gust sensing devices or accelerometers applied to reduce the abrupt vertical forces? Are there other technologies in use? What exists for light planes, (not airliners)?
