Introducing myself. I'm Michael Nixon and located in the Upstate of South Carolina. I currently own a Van's RV-8A that is complete but not yet flown. I previous owned and flew an RV-9A but traded it for the -8A with the builder in South Texas. Moving the -8A to South Carolina shortly for test flight. I've been flying off and on since I got my ticket at 17 - I'm 63 now. However, my son was a military maintenance test pilot and will take up the primary test pilot role.

I'm an engineer and built my first plane (Rutan Quickie) with two other McDonnell Douglas engineers over a year and a half of nights and weekends in a one-bedroom second-story apartment in St. Louis. The things you do when you are young and single and don't know any better.

Looking to many more years of aviation participation!

Mike
