Wouldn't this be useful in covering the leading edge (LE) of a wing then using fiberglass over it. With little imagination one could see other uses during building. The weight is slight and it would easily comply with LE curves. Since the material is resin filled the glass and epoxy should adhere without saturating or dissolving the backer.
Using 1" foam board on 6" OC (on centers) would support the glass while drying especially if several layers of light weight glass used instead one heavy one. At the backer thickness, even 2 or 3 layer might apply.
Best of all a 49x97 inch sheet is <$6 and cuts with a single blade knife.
