I just did a one-day course in aircraft woodwork with the LAA in the UK (taught by Alan James, who built well-known Pietenpol G-BUCO, a fantastic Isacs Spitfire, and about 100 custom wood props) and I am now thoroughly confused about wood glue. We played around with resorcinol glue in the form of Prefere 4050 Resin and 5750 Hardener (formerly known as Aerodux) and urea-formaldehyde glue with separate acid hardener (Aerolite 103). I much preferred the Aerolite for most applications but I understand that even the two-part UF glues may no longer be approved in the USA. On the other hand epoxy seems to be a no-no in the UK, and neither UF nor epoxy formally approved in France. Help!
