According to Type certificate Cessna 172 3A12 Rev 83.pdf, the MAC (mean aerodynamic chord) is 58.8 inches and the wing's leading edge is 25.9 inches aft of the datum. The aft center of gravity limit is 47.3 inches aft of datum, which would be 47.3-25.9=21.4 inches behind the leading edge. 21.4/58.8=36% of chord. Am I interpreting this data correctly? Is it acceptable for the aft center of gravity limit of a high-wing airplane to be at 36% of the wing chord?
