In the May 2016 issue of Kitplanes there is an article on the British built Sherwood Ranger. The Light Aircraft Company says they use a new
"COLD Weld Mig Process" rather than Tig because it imparts less heat into the parts and helps retain the original strength of the tubing.
It appears to be the conventional Mig process with the addition of the "pulse" feature often associated with Tig machines. I know the Miller 350P
offers pulse but don't think the lesser priced models offer it.
