For those of you unfamiliar with my design project it's going to need a lot of hotwired foam cores to approximate the elliptical wing and tail surfaces, as well as the bend in the wing.
I know that I don't want the inaccuracies of hand hotwire cutting and doing a little research into pricing from commercial sources has proved the suspicion that it will be prohibitively expensive. Given the fact that I have a father who designs industrial machinery and control systems plus a brother who is a mechanical engineer that designs similar stuff, I am supremely confident I can come up with a cnc hotwire cutter for considerably cheaper than I can buy all the cores I will need.
This leads to the idea that I could recoup some of the cost by contracting out jobs for other homebuilders (no I don't expect to get rich). I know how big I need the machine to be for my project but I would like some input on what others of you need/want.
