Hello to you all, i came across a buddy lake biplane and i am interested i building it. BUT, then i started to seek for informations on materials :tired: and now i have a huge ? over may head.
I need experienced builders to help me clear some things
First off all: fuselage is made of 4130 steel. Nearest dealer is in Germany, aircraftspruce.eu, 1000 km away...(i am from Croatia , and they sell 4130 kit (tubes, sheet, bla bla), that cost about 2200 euro. Is that ok or can i buy the material cheaper if i by it separately, and not in kit?
Second: the plane is designed as two seat full aerobatic, +-9g.... why would anyone spend so much for 4130 tubes so plane can handle 9g, when pilot cannot handle nor 5 g without an anti g suit?? What i meant to say i could build it from ordinary construction or stainless steel( i will not); BUT let say i would, i would spend 300 euro for the material? one more thing, aircraftspuce.eu sells nose cowl for this biplane for 686.12 euro, what is insane, because if i buy fiberglass and resin and stuff needed, i can build it for 100 euro top!!!
and third: this plane is designed in 80's. Is there any of newer composite designs for home build? thanks
and have anyone looked to build a cricri from composite?
