I am sure this question has been asked many time. I just couldn't find the answer or when I did find the answer, it is usually very confusing. In short, how are metal parts (e.g. hinges for ailerons) are attached to composites? The most common way I find on home builders logs is to glue the metal part with flox on the composite and put a few layers of glass on top. Or bury part of the metal in the foam, flox the hole and cover it with a few layers of glass. Are these methods strong enough?
