No, not for transporting aircraft. It seems to me that some of the discussion here oh HBA has become a bit "stale" recently and this odd idea I had last night might help to liven things up a bit. This may prove to be as controversial and stimulating as any of the roadable threads. The following is strictly for fun!
How about a small glider towed behind an LSA, or other aircraft with limited baggage capacity? Given the technology available from the RC world it should be possible to put together a semi autonomous trailer of reasonable size. It appears that towing such an "ultralight vehicle" is within the FAA rules?
Just to pick some random numbers out of the air to get things started:
100 Kg payload
35 Kg empty weight
20/1 Lift to drag - blended body flying wing - 7Kg drag, or about 7% of a typical loaded LSA?
3.7 m2 wing area ~40kt stall
3/1 aspect ratio or folding wings for storage
