Gail Mathews, the wife of Will Mathews (owner of White Lightning N25WL - Race 43, and holder of all the White Lightning manufacturing assets) will shortly be placing the aircraft and kit manufacturing assets on the market following Will's passing in May.

I have offered to help her dispose of these assets.

This thread is a preliminary advice to all HBA members that these assets will shortly become available. Please pass on this advice to anyone that you may consider could be interested in the aircraft itself or the kit manufacturing business.

N25WL had some mods done to it for racing but it is now fitted with its stock 4 seat interior. The IO360 engine has been turbo'd so good high altitude performance is possible.

Bear in mind that the kit has not been in production for over 20 years. The molds and tooling have been stored securely during that time but from the photos that Will sent me and by his own admission, "they would need some work". Gail will be seeking a realistic price for the assets, given their age, condition etc. but it will all be likely sold on an as-is, where-is basis.

I will post more details with photos once Gail initiates the advertising (probably on Barnstormers and Trade-a-plane).

This is a difficult time for Gail and the last thing she will need is dreamers or tyre kickers distracting her so when the stuff is advertised, it would be appreciated that only genuine enquiries be made.

Cheers,

Dave
