Hi all, I am in the process of trying to identify an airplane project to build and would like some advice and answers to some of the questions I have regarding the diferrent methods of constrution, engines etc. My questions are as follows: wood, metal, composite? Is the affordaplane safe? Is it a good idea to learn to glide first? I have tried all types of flying from paragliding to microlight to gliding to light aircraft and all it has done is make me certain that I want to fly! Is it cheaper to build or to buy? I enjoy classics and as such have looked at the Cessna 120 and 140which seem very reasonable but I know the maintenance on older aircraft must be quite high. Still the feeling of building and flying your own plane must be amazing. I know there are lots of experienced pilots and builders out there and any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks Kevin, Skeerpoort, South Africa
