10 years ago... NASA/CAFE Green Flight Challenge 2011.
Serial produced Phoenix with serial produced Rotax 912 (100 hp) flown 322 km distance (200 miles) using 16,1 lit. of MOGAS at speed of 125 km/h (77 mph).
In other words... 40 km distance / 1 lit. of MOGAS / 1 person.

People are awesome.
Everyday we can see great projects showing borders of actual technology. And as we can see on many e-Airplanes, e-Helicopters and e-VTOL projects - sometimes even behind possibilities of actually available technology. Beautifull renders, amazing parameters, millions from investors....
Wow, I am impressed.
e-Future is great. Drone will deliver my pizza, my medicals.... e-VTOL taxi will bring me to airport to fly with big electric e-Airliner to holidays.
If I would be investor than I would invest in battery production and development - it will be necessary huge amount of high-end batteries.
I can already imagine excuses like - sorry dear investor, our e-VTOL (or any other e-Vehicle) is great, but there are no batteries available.
And how about energy source? Sun? Wind? Atomic powerplants? Nuclear fusion? Who will supply energy to recharge GWh (maybe even higher numbers) of batteries installed practically everywhere? Can we expect more often situation like in Texas? (10 000% energy price increase due to cold weather)

I am a big fan of electric propulsion systems in sport aviation. I really am. But many promoted ideas are really missing common sense and a sense of reality. Maybe it's a mistake on my side - I look too much at real numbers and really valid laws of physics...

=Lagiewka dynamic bumper...

=forces and overloads (< 1000 "G") in my PULS bumper...look at time scale

(1 ms / div.)

now we prepare PULS BUMPER in SMART FOR TWO.

PS=in Yours motorgliders Newton formula is working=

a=F thrust/ m (acceleration).

=iff multiply its speed by 2, it can hunt on the russian propeller drived bomber TU-95 ! (950 km/h)...
