Rat-bike like Gyro similar to Mad Max with MZ-202 65 HP Mosquito helicopter-engine and carbon-fibre seat-tank, should fly well with 23' diameter rotor.
Empty weight ready to gas-up should be about 185 lbs.
Would be ultimate in perceived-simplicity and low cost....and I think would pull crowds.
Could be modified slightly with double-redundant longer-mast(same length as Bumble Bee's to accomodate slightly larger rotor diameter and slightly larger propeller).

I know Felix personally and his work is beautifull
ATOS Wing is perfect airplane for electric propulson system - extremelly light with good L/D.
I wish I could test it personally

Dick Bach bought a BD-5J immediately he saw the first 5J "demo fly-by" at an Airshow in 1974........sort of like Jay Leno reaching for his check-book to buy a Tesla-roadster 1.5 seconds into his first demo-acceleration run(it's on Youtube)!
So maybe a self-launching retractable "eBD-5 Long Wing" soarer would be practical........folding-prop out the back and carbon-wings of course.........?

As mentionned before - L/D is not the most important factor.
Low weight and small sink rate are the main advantages of ATOS Wing project = only small battery and small motor are necessary.
In project ATOS Wing is Felix using wings from ATOS hang-glider so is not possible to expect much better L/D (comparing with ATOS hang-glider). There is a group of pilots prefering "normal" control lines and very light gliders. As I wrote - I also hope to have opportunity to test it
For me will be the only "problem".... price. ATOS hang gliders are top product so ATOS Wing will be probably also priced like top product in his category. Nevertheless - I will keep eye on ATOS new web for news

Few informations about ATOS Wing propulsion system....
Atos Wing is motorised with a HPD16 (or HPD20) electric motor from Geiger Engineering. It means that available power is 16-20 kW (4,7 kg). With 3 battery packs (3x 15 kg) should be possible to fly 2,5 hours and expected range is 200 km without needing of thermals. Nice

And another interesting project.
Taurus from Pipistrel is known two seat (side by side) self launch glider with retractable electric or ICE propulsion system.
In Germany is one Taurus modified to "FES like" configuration.
Used motor is from Geiger Engineering HPD40D (60 kW peak, 40 kW cont.) and 6 battery packs (in total 90 kg battery). Range is about 200km.
Prop installation with folding possibility looks OK
I just wonder how they takeoff? Original Taurus has very low retractable landing gear and diameter of this prop is large. Seems that it has not self launch possibility. Nevertheless - nice project

I had opportunity to take a seat in Silent Glider.
Pilot position and comfort was OK, but big problem for me are controls.
Up and down like in hang glider and turning like airplane...

ATOS Wing has controls similar to airplanes / gliders and this will be important argument for many possible customers.
