    -much better recuperation efficiancy we can got from FLEYWHEL kinetic energy
    accumulator (superwflywheel + supervariator )...=prof Gulia works!

    Hello Henryk,
    I am affraid that flywheel kinetic energy system is too heavy for airplane + there is a problem with safety.
    Imagine heavy high RPM gyroscope during crash landing...

    The dream about recuperation from thermals (lifts) is very nice, however to be realistic, for typical cruise flight will be probably necessary to have some generator based on combustion engine.
    I am very surprissed that after many years are no simple solutions available.

    Yes, I remember a prototype flywheel kinetic storage unit for cars. The flywheel was relatively light composite spun very fast, inside a vacuum enclosure. In case of an accident, the enclosure ruptured and the flywheel itself broke into harmless light strands due to air pressure.

    A challenge in aircraft would be the very high resistance to movement perpendicular to the flywheel axis. Maybe putting the whole thing in a gimballed mount so it could self-adjust into the orientation of least resistance.
    Mechanical complexity would be reduced (a lot) if the flywheel was used to make electricity rather than being used directly to drive a prop.

    Hello!
    I can understand why to use the "KERS" system in cars. However I still miss the point why to have this system in airplane :)
    In car - especially in the city - you need to stop and start (or slow down and accelerate) very often.
    But that is not typical situation during flight :)

    -You are right, KERS in flying device is not efficiant,
    but Range Extenders too ="Additional mass added to vehicle < 400 kg"...

    -combination=ICE +supervariator +superflywheel seems better weight/power/energy proportion.

    BTW=flywheel NOT steal or Pb, BUT silicon,bor rowings (high strength/weight !)

    Exactly - problem is weight and efficiency...
    I was dreaming about ICE generator with 8-10kW of output power.
    Small, light, simple.
    Would be possible to "survive" lower efficiency if system is removable.
    To be used only for long cross country flights.

    Just dreaming.
    Like other development teams...

    Yes, propeller is modified WoodComp Varia 1,6 designed as in flight adjustable + feathering.
