Now that electric and hybrid propulsion are part of the picture, it seems appropriate to solicit designs for vertical takeoff and landing airplanes that are NOT helicopters. I would like to hear ideas about how the entries would be judged, what criteria would apply, and so on. My early thoughts are for the lightest and/or most efficient design capable of carrying a payload of 200 kgs.
