Had a long post that got eaten by the interwebs.... TL;DR version below

A "grassroots" effort is kicking off to build a new GA airport closer to KSAV than the existing options. AOPA and NBAA(!) are on board already. One interesting comment: guy says "glider guys are assholes" and wants to make sure they don't dominate the field; presenter (German glider pilot) agrees. Says he wants to keep the grass runway "short so that aerotow's the only option and they can't get a winch" :ermm: (Note, a glider club already exists at another airport up the road)

Main event was a presentation by a senior AME (and bizjet instructor!) who handles the "problem children" cases. Learned a few things. Looks like some hope for those struggling with their medical cert...

A chapter is being resurrected in Statesboro... new president is all of 18 years old!
