Turbo normalized type 4 ?

Has anyone ever turbo charged a 2400 cc type 4 VW with a Ellison A3 tbi on it? This one is a PTO end direct drive. Thinking of flying high 12-15000 ft. I know they are available for VW powered buggies and such. Intake needs? exaust needs? Special tuning?Any info would be helpfull Thanks.

I don't have the slightest clue about that specific engine. After digging into it a bit though, going high requires specific attention to quite a lot of issues. Just a couple:
*Fuel vapor lock (low pressure)
*Pressure sealing of the whole inlet trajectory
*Proper turbo lubrication since it's running far higher than anything else will ever see
*Something to shield off insects/sand towards the turbo inlet.
*"Foaming" of the oil in the crankcase
*Viscosity of the oil

Ow, and if you're going high, a heater is mandatory. Unless of course you're into icecreams ;-)

edge performance use an EFI and an Aerocharger turbo that don't need external engine oil, and have variable vanes.
