I have an engine mount [chro-mo] for a 1/2 VW -2 tubes are bent about 45 degrees. I would like to straighten it with heat to use as a test stand. Feasible?

For a test stand, probably. You have to look how bad the mount is stretched or kinked when straight. Might need reinforcing if you are going to put a lot of time on the stand.

Not worth the time. Use the straight pieces for something else and go with electrical conduit tube or similar for the stand.

Steel is cheap at Scrap Yards 10 cents a pound. There are many VW Engine Test Stands and Plans out there.
