I don't know who needs to see this. I was having trouble with the longest Rivets. no matter what I tried I was beating the crap out of the rivet head. I am using a 4X gun with plenty of power. My friend at the airport that does aircraft sheet-metal work.Told me simply put three layers of masking tape on the rivet set. amazingly that's all it took for my rivets to start looking good. The shorter rivets I had no trouble with. it was only the longer rivets that was giving me this Problem. I hope this helps somebody else that may be struggling with the same problem

Takes practice. Make sure you're 100% square, and use a fair bit of pressure to keep the snap centered over the head.
Also, get an air regulator on the gun so you can dial in the air pressure. Depending on rivet size, length, and material you'll want to change the force.
