I have just started the Osprey II project. I am experimenting with modern material as the design is 30 years old. One thing that bothers me, is the reports of how fast this plane must be landed. Some report speeds of 70 - 80 MPH. There are places I would like to go that don't have enough water to put down at that speed. I have heard that some builders have extended the wings, but with very little detail. Also, will flaps make enough difference to be worth the effort? Need some expert advice. I have got to slow this bad boy down!
