Ok, I didn't know where else to put this question. I want to make my nose gear a castering nose gear, similar to the Grummans or RV-12. If someone was to make the castering part, what type of aluminum would they use? Would you make it from a single block? I've seen one at Osh that was a block with side parts to make the fork bolted on. It was simple enough, but the builder wasn't around to ask. Would the aluminum have to be heat treated? Yep, so many questions.
