Trying to find any information on vertical and horizontal tail arms in my books. All I can see is talking about tail volume only. We talked here about recommendation to have tail arm 3 times as wing chord measurement or more. And I can see it on very good performing airplanes but couldn't find it in writing.

Found dimensions for Flight Design and figured horizontal tail arm = 3.48

On Remos tail arm about the same

But stoped and looked at Challenger this morning and you can see without measuring that tail arm is very short, just like on my Skyboy. But Challenger supposed to be very good flying airplane. So, I am confused a little bit.
