The Sadler Vampire used a 63/3-A218 symmetrical airfoil with a 50" chord ... my question would be why a symmetrical instead of a standard flat bottom airfoil like used on the Airbike (50" chord) or Legal Eagle. Looking a pictures of all the different Sadler Airplanes looks like he continued to use the same symmetrical airfoil in the A22 and Piranha with only tapering the wing thickness on the last five feet. What are the advantages and disadvantages ... would there be a gain in using a flat bottom airfoil in the Vampire? The USA version had a 30ft. span ... the Aussie had a 26ft. span ... the A22 not sure of span but the Piranha had a 22ft. span.
