Billy, IMHO set aside another $10K to resolve whatever the battery (and cause of battery failure after 6 flights) issues are. Then make sure you have someone who knows battery and e-power systems available to guide you, whatever that costs. If it still makes sense after all that, buy it. The S-2 is a reasonably well-understood and proven aircraft. But now here's the clever part... the truth is that if you buy it for$10K, sell the remains of the electric system for $2K, and then spend$5K on a 30HP 2-stroke paramotor engine, you may achieve exactly what you want to achieve... and be circling under a coudstreet a year or two sooner

I hadn't even considered that ; what a Great idea !!!

34:1 glide , is a good place to start ; way better than my Atos, with a
Paramotor engine, on it.

Wikipedia didn't say, how many G's it's good for ?

Good catch, Peter. If the plane in the Kitplanes article is the same one, it's not clear that there's much S2 left in it. They have done a lot of work and changes. Either way forward (IC or electric) will probably be a big project with a lot of back-validation and "original thinking" required. And either route might result in a great plane, eventually.
