Most Tube and Fabric Ultralights/Kitplanes are built very Similar out of 6061 Aluminum and 4130 Steel Tube using Tube Connectors and maybe some Welding! Tubing used, varies from 3/4" to 3" for the different parts and .058" to .120" Wall Thickness used!

Has anyone 3D modeled a Wing, Cabin Hoop, Landing Gear, or whole Ultralight Airframe and then Stress Tested it in one of these High Tech CAD programs? What was the Good/Bad results of the Test?

Example: Cabin Hoop in 6061 and 4130.
