Hello all,
I've been researching the Spratt Controlwing flying boat on the internet and have found it has many interesting qualities I would like to persue farther, such as the engine, for one. The Sport Aviation March 1978 article "The 2 Stroke Engine Today" about converting the Mercury 850 outboard powerhead for aviation applications has some great info. Acording to the author, Mr. Bill Wolf, he has many reliable hours flying this engine. Also according to Mr. Wolf, the engine puts out 85 hp at 132 lbs total with radiator cooling system and belt reduction drive. This he compares to the Continental C-90 minus prop at 90 hp and 216 lbs.

Does anybody here know where a set of plans for this aircraft could be located? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Wayne
