Does Spiral stability / instability have any affect on an airplane's tendency to enter a spin and recover?

Most GA airplanes are slightly spiral unstable meaning that they will enter a spiral dive from a banked attitude.

Spiral stable airplanes are not likely to enter a spiral dive from a bank however I read that once they are in a spiral dive it can be difficult to get them out of the dive. Some WW1 planes had this problem.

So is a 2 axis airplane like a weedhopper or skypup spiral stable? I would then think a low wing plane will little to no dihedral would be a bit spiral unstable.

It seems like the low wing plane wound be more spin prone than the skypup or weedhopper.
