Hi,
Let me begin by saying I've not spun a plane, and so all my comments below are therefore suspect.

Having said that, I came across a fascinating article which clearly says that rudder used together with ailerons is more effective than rudder alone to arrest a spin. This is definitely not was I had been led to believe.
