Good day all! Some of you may have seen some post around here from me, but here's my official "coming out". My name is Mark and I live on the East Coast of Canada and I'm building a Reno F1 Racer, a Snoshoo SR-1. We are in high gear with building with lots of stuff completed, but still lots to go. I don't have as many pics as I should to post, can't seem to find the **** camera that has the SD card in it! But I do have some pictures from my phone and iPad. Once I find the SD card I will update this and hopefully be able to make regular updates.

I started a little Race Team, we're called Temper Tantrum Racing. We've been fortunate enough to have enlisted some sponsors to help us along the way. They are
    Glance EFIS
    Saint John Airport (CYSJ)
    Aerotec Engines
    Atlantic Avionics

We are on social media with a website, facebook, and twitter. I invite everyone to stop by and take a look and follow us and ask any questions you may have!

    Thanks

We were fortunate enough to sign a new local sponsor today...local car dealership Fundy Honda. The support for our team is coming along nicely, but still lots to do and more happening every day!
Here are the Aileron structures, they need a bit more tweaking, but soon will be getting to add the foam and wrap with carbon fiber.

Here are some pics of our race engine being assembled at the engine builders. If you need an overhaul, or need to buy an engine outright, be sure to give Aerotec Engines, out of Nova Scotia Canada a call they have something like over 30 various engines that can go out at any time. And fantastic quality!

I'm not sure why the forum here rotated the picture but I can't figure out how to get it to rotate to the proper orientation...Sorry!

Be sure to check us out on facebook...Temper Tantrum Racing!

Hey everyone! I know its been awhile since I've posted progress pics. I'm still at it when I can, but we've had a bit of a hiccup. Wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she's had surgery and is in the middle of 5 months of chemotherapy. She's going to be fine so that's great news. But right now she's the priority not the plane. She will be finished everything at the end of March and then I will be back at it full force. All that being said I still get a few hours in the shop each week. So here is some of my progress! Thanks for everyone that is following this and please like and follow our facebook page. Temper Tantrum Racing.
    Thanks

Some more progress, floorboards, then carbon and vacuum bagging then into my makeshift "oven". Some more tail pics, and a few stragglers.
    Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

Well the past 2 1/2 weeks have been absolutely crazy at the full time job, but we’re almost caught up. So that means more work on the racer!

Hey all, Making more progress. My wife has finished her Chemo treatments and the crazy gal has gone back to work despite my concerns. She's one tough Lady that's for sure. However her going back to work does give me lots of time back in the shop so I've spent the last 2 weekends as well throughout the week. Hoping to have a wing skeleton by the end of the first weekend in March. These are the rear spar laminates done, starting of the forward spar, wing ribs, the vertical tail and rudder, and some go fast parts from a friend in California.
I worked early this morning, so I'm pretty much done now for the rest of the day, so home I go and back to the shop!

Some more progress from the past weekend and week. The brackets are for the aileron bell cranks at the wing root ribs. And as seen in the pics this is the last of the main spar laminations. after full cure, I will start trimming them to proper shape and size.

    Good day,
Finally had some time to get back into the shop. Trying to cut the rear spar down to the proper dimensions. Both the front and the rear spars are tapered on 3 sides with the forward side of the rear spar being straight and the aft side of the forward spar being straight as well. I have the rear spar planed down to the proper height, and just finished drawing out the cut lines for the 3 tapers. I will used a skill saw to cut the initial cut at approximately 1/4"-3/8" off the line where the space permits to get my initial slope, then use a power planer to finish it off. This seems to be the best way to do this after a few different attempts at different approaches to it with a few mock up spars that I've done.
    Thanks for viewing!

A little more progress on the rear spar. Its now finished and I have moved onto the forward spar. The ribs are finished also, so as soon as the forward spar is done, I will be on to laying in ribs for the wing skeleton.
    Thanks for looking stoping by!

Well I haven't posted much lately, been pretty busy working on the plane, and designing a couple parts (see engine sump thread for latest part). But was finally able to get the canopy bonded to the top fuselage shell, then laid up some more carbon for the flanges for the canopy, and the cut out will essentially be the canopy. It's still in the rough stages and needs to be trimmed and fitted to proper size. Still getting the hang of this carbon fiber stuff..LOL. I've finished the rough lay up for one hinge, and still need to do another. I ordered my canopy latch assembly today. Hope to have the complete canopy hinge and latch mechanism installed and done by the end of May.
    Thanks for stopping by!
