Select the person’s name. Then, on the pop-up, select “start a conversation,”

Click the user's name, and then click Start Conversation in the popup:

Or, click the messaging icon and then click Start a New Conversation in the popup:

If you started a convo with a person whose profile you clicked, the recipient's name will be selected for you. If you used the messaging icon, start typing the recipient's name and it will auto-populate. Select the name, and start conversatin'.

    ok thx
I saw that but wasn't sure if it was private or not
and I haven't found how to post a pic by using Browse PC as we had before. Now we gotta dig up the url, right? I liked the other way.

I thought the same thing. Even though it is (I hope) a private conversation, it looks deceptively like a public thread.

I got a post to make on a mod to the 701 but need to know how to post a pic. I've looked at my pictures and right clicked, left clicked you name it and haven't found it yet. Clicking on the camera symbol above the reply for imbedded media whatever the hell that is doesn't work. It says I don't have any imbedded media. Good I don't want anything out there that I can help.
I'm sure it'll be embarrassingly obvious when somebody finally shows how. It's usually right in front of me.

With this new system, I was able to copy/paste the image into the message and it took care of all the embedding for me for the above. But I had the image open in an editor when I did it. I haven’t tried it by doing the same from a computer folder.

Copy-paste or "upload a file", then select "insert inline".

Copy and paste. Or use the button UPLOAD A FILE. It will allow you to choose from your gallery on phone or pc. Once you choose then it will start uploading and when done you can leave it thumbnail or choose Full Size. Full size brings the image to the large size most prefer to see.

If you use the image icon from the top message bar, you will need to put a link to an image that is already somewhere on the internet.
