Anyone here make it to the Southeast Regional Fly In? I did meet one person (regrettably I can't remember his name) who did admit to visiting This site. He told me he thinks its a pretty good site. HBA, stealing valuable time from homebuilders around the world. Good slogan?

Poor visibility on Saturday morning seemed to keep attendance low. It did clear up around 11 or so but then the heat went way out of control. I must have spent a small fortune keeping my wife topped off with lemonade :D .

Even though attendance was down from last year (so I'm told) there were quite a few great aircraft there. One aircraft of note was the Delta Dyke that was an Oshkosh awardee and graces the cover of one of the issues of Sport Aviation on my bookshelf. It was a real hoot seeing it overhead on a high speed pass.

There was also an absolutely gorgeous Space Walker II that had me drooling all over myself. It was blue and yellow and glossy glossy glossy! I'll post a picture tomorrow after my night checkride.

Another interesting aircraft was the 4 seater Jabiru. From the outside it looked absolutely tiny but when I opened the door, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of space. But, when I opened my wallet….well, you know the rest of the story.

Unfortunately, there weren’t any Pietenpols there. I was a bit bummed about that but cheered myself up by reminding myself that their rarity will make mine so much more special  .

Another downer was that my son was very pumped up to get his first Young Eagle flight but, because of the poor weather early that morning, the Young Eagle folks weren't able to make it. So, I did the only thing I could - I paid the helicopter ride guy to take him and his mother up for a spin. At 400 dollars an hour, I'm glad it was only a 6 minute flight :gig: . They had a great time.
