Andy Findlay is on the pole in Sport Class this year at 398 mph, which is faster than all but two of the Unlimited qualifiers.

I'll be at Reno Saturday and Sunday, wearing an SDS T shirt, hanging out in the pits near the following aircraft mostly: 30,31, 3, 101, 61, 39. I'll have some free SDS swag to hand out on Sunday. Come by and say hi.

Andy won the race today by a large margin. Many other people are struggling, going 50-75 mph slower than they have in previous years. Some of these have switched over to brand X EFI which could explain some of their problems...

Dizzy Dean, the baseball player..."It ain't braggin' if you can do it."

And the old adage- "when the flag drops the BS stops"

Andy's success and ours is due to years of hard work.

I'll let our record to date speak for itself. As I come from a long racing past, I get a lot of satisfaction from destroying the competition.

Hi Ross, Best of luck with the rest of the races.I am working on an article on the potential of the sport class to eclipse the "Unlimiteds". I would appreciate your opinion. I'll email in a couple of weeks.
    Enjoy,

Andy took the race today again. We need Jeff in there for the weekend races to make a proper show of this. Processions are no fun to watch. I'll be in the pits bright and early.

Andy took Saturdays race by a large margin over Jeff LaVelle. I hope Jeff was just conserving his new engine for the big showdown on Sunday. I want to see these two really race.

Lee Ulrich won heat heat 3D with his turbo RV-7 after Dan West got him yesterday right at the line. Good battles between these 2 RVs. Mark Frederickson finished this race in 3rd.

It's been a good weekend for SDS equipped planes so far. I couldn't be more pleased.

Sean VanHatten had to force land after an electrical issue. Unfortunately damaged the plane but fortunately walked away without a scratch. He told me he'll be back next year.

I got to meet and talk to Jeff Kerlo and see the mockup of his new canard design. Very cool and Jeff is a great guy with a lot of talent. I hope this design goes well for him.

    BB....

From my phone to the Flat-Screen TV since they talk to one another, Oh my :). It is too hard to maneuver though the keyboard w/in the internet option on the TV. Is NBC is out for good? Thank G-d that RARA got this back on line, it has been a dry couple of years.

    My best, Anthony

Congratulations to Andy and SDS. Being a Glasair guy I’m rooting for Jeff. Jeff probably won’t catch Andy on Sunday, but I hope Jeff is at least biting on Andy’s heals. Close races add to the excitement and the memories. Most of all, close races are the mother of improvements.
