Rotax 906?

On another list, I saw mention of a Rotax 906 engine from the 1980's... seems it was a two cylinder, 35hp, 75lb four stroke engine. I presume it never saw production, what a pity! Would've been a great alternative to the Cuyuna or 447. I wonder whatever happened to it?

Might be time for Rotax to revisit it, with the resurgence of interest in 103 legal ultralights.
