Kevin, you have time to research and find the right prop. You certainly don’t have to follow the crowd!

I've already researched props for my particular application and have decided on a Warp Drive.
After talking with guys running the prop I was very interested about their claims of its durability & quality.
After talking with Darryl at Warp Drive about info & numbers.....I was sold.

93 & 94 cases are provision 8......
However, the crank needs to be machined to match the taper of the gearbox and the case holes need to be worked a little to accept the gearbox bolts.

Kevin
Are these also the ones with 2 magnetic triggers on the fly wheel for use with the Ducati dual ignition?

I'm not sure about the flywheel magnetic triggers.
I know there was something about that specific case design that allowed the use of the dual Ducati ignition where the other cases won't.
Google that question or call Rotax Rick and he can give a definitive answer to that question.

Is the 93/94 stock crank good enough for the 90ish HP?
would the later crank be better ?
anyone know which magneto/ stator is used? 582DCDI?
I’m looking at starting a build , just trying to gather all the info of parts to collect and get set up right the first time around.

Is there a resident Guru that can educate me on the years and parts that are best for the 670 for aircraft use?

Case year
Crank year
Mikuni or Bing?
jet and needle sizes?
Cbox and ratio?

Aftermarket sources such as the crank shop?
sled shops that sell or make better parts?
many and all help is greatly appreciated.

I fly a gyro using the 'Rotax Rick' Rotax 670 with a E gearbox. It's a 93/94 model. These two years were special for the crank shaft to use the duel Ducati ignition (using the Rotax 583 magneto). The later models only work for a single ignition system. I use the Bing carbs which work fine enough for me.

All the answers you seek .....are within Rotax Rick's brain.....call him.
Save yourself a lot of time from having to figure out what is good info & bad info by calling Rick.
Rick will fry your brain with all the info he lays on you.....have a pencil & paper at hand when you call him.
He will help you whether he builds your engine or you build it yourself......so call him.
Have I mentioned to call Rotax Rick ???

But if you want to spend month after month trying to figure things out, like I did before I made the call, from all the mis-information you're going to find on the net..........then don't call.

Can you please tell me at what RPM is your 670 supposed to produce 100 HP. I have read a lot of what 670 owners think they have, but have yet to discuss the actual real time numbers with an operator. I have extensive experience w/ 582, 532 and 670's in the E-A/B and snowmobile racing world. Also very much versed in the gearbox reduction systems and the application of the Warp Drive prop. I am pondering using the 670 in a project and just wanting to discuss this topic with actual operators.
==============================

Tuned pipes can vary a lot. A 670 with an R&D Aero 618 Tuned Pipe. The 618UL 73.4hp@6750rpm and the 670 are from the same family! At 6750rpm it is making 100+hp.

6800 103.8hp
6600 97.0hp
----------------
6.8hp

6800
6600
------
200rpm/50rpm = 8

6.8/8= 0.85hp per +/- 50rpm.

So at 6800rpm = 103.8hp - 0.85 = 102.95hp for 6750rpm approximatly.

Rotax Ricks 670 Tuned Pipe made 92hp@6350rpm!

========================

All 670's, 1992 to 1999 are Provision 8! Most 1995-99 Provision 8 Top Holes have been Doctored. Some have bottom Left Boss Milled Off. Both Fixable.

1992 670's had a PTO Crank Issue and are very Rare. The upgraded 1993 670 Fixed the PTO Crank issue.

A Stock 670 in a Sled is 115.7hp@7750rpm! There was a 670HO in 1998-99 Only about 15hp more than Standard 670.

Only the 1992 to 94 Cases can accept the Ducati Dual Pickup Ignition!

The 1995 to 1999 670 Cases have a Black Plate over the Mag.

670HO uses Flat Top Pistons with better Ported Cylinders and uses 12.5cr. The HO Head has Dual Temp Senders on the Side, Standard 670 has only (1).

Rotax Rick has come up with a way to put Dual Ignition on the 1995-99 Engines.

The B Gear Drive can't handle the 670's Hp, you have to use the C or E Gear Box which uses a Donunut or RK400 Clutch, which is Machined for the 670's Larger 33mm 1:7.5 Taper PTO!
