When you are looking at roll and tip paint finish companies don't forget the originator of the roll and tip finish, long before Awlgrip. The Sterling paint and lacquer company out of St Louis Missouri. Sterling Lacquer Mfg. Co. Their prices are quite high, but their paints go a long way.

If I was painting an all metal airplane I believe I would just spray it with the good old Dupont Imron. Very forgiving and easy to spray. Looks good if you want the high gloss.
Back several years ago, I painted my daughter's C-140 and used silver Randthane on the fabric wings and Dupont Imron's version of base coat/clear coat ( now AF700 and AF740), and part polished on the metal fuselage. Came out very nice. While flying you could see the refection of the tails in the wheel pants.
