Just wondering if anyone else is interested in these. Seeing that XCOR is flying a rocket powered Long EZ, Could this be the next type of air racing.
I was talking about this with a few of my model rocket buddies, and doing some numbers and, neglecting the airframe for the minute, the rocket required isnt that hard to make. Not talking sub-orbital, just 40000ft or so.
With the interest in the xprize, and the anouncement of the Americs Space prize, as well as the Xprize cup (like a space Oshcosh), perhaps this is a new area to be looking at.
What do you guys think? Is there a future in air rocket drag racing?
